Please Share your Views about the SCP/Division 17/Counseling Psychology

Dear Counseling Psychologist,

We are requesting your participation in an online survey to help us deeply understand our field, and the implications for making the Society of Counseling Psychology (SCP; Division 17 of the American Psychological Association) the best that it can be…for all of us.

The SCP Strategic Planning Special Task Group (STG) is examining our mission, where we are now, where we want to go, what major challenges and opportunities exist for us, and what specific actions we need to take. We will be using survey responses to assess the perceptions of ALL Counseling Psychologists: graduate students, early career psychologists, senior and retired psychologists, and non-SCP members – we very much want to hear your voice!

You can access the survey here:

https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/SCP-2018-Planning-Survey

As a token of our appreciation, at the end of the survey you will be given the opportunity to enter a drawing in which ten (10) survey respondents will be randomly selected to receive a $50 pre-paid visa gift card.

Please complete the survey by Monday, June 4, 2018.  We anticipate the survey will take 15-20 minutes to complete for SCP members, former members, or student affiliates. If you are a not currently a member of SCP, the survey should take less than 5 minutes.

All survey responses are anonymous and confidential. We are working with a strategic planning non-profit (Executive Service Corps of Chicago, ESC) who are administering the survey and will provide an aggregated report to the STG members.  Only members of the ESC team will view your quantitative responses; members of the STG may view responses to open-ended questions, but these qualitative data will be anonymous and separated from other survey data.

We are enthusiastic about the potential for these data to guide us in strategic planning for strengthening our training programs, division opportunities, and our ability to impact important issues related to our field. We would also appreciate your help in forwarding this invitation to any Counseling Psychologists and Counseling Psychology graduate students you know, whether or not they are affiliated with the SCP.

If you have questions, please feel free to contact Debbie Nolan at [email protected]

Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts. We thank you in advance and look forward to what the future brings for counseling psychology!

Sincerely,

SCP Strategic Planning Special Task Group:
