Congratulations to (from left) Dr. Christine Courtois, Dr. James Lichtenberg, and Dr. Thomas Dowd for being recognized at the American Board of Professional Psychology Convocation at APA Denver.
Dr. Courtois was recognized for her research and practice in the area of complex trauma, and gave an address entitled “Complex Development Trauma in Adults: Innovation in Integrated Treatment.” Dr. Courtois has been in independent practice throughout her exceptional career.

2016 Award Winners Counseling PsychologyDr. Lichtenberg was recognized for service to the American Board of Counseling Psychology for leadership in the strengthening of our Counseling Psychology specialty through his work with the American Academy of Counseling Psychology (AACoP) and the Society of Counseling Psychology (SCP). He has been instrumental in raising the awareness of the importance of board certification, having served as Chair of Counseling Psychology’s first, and then most recent petition to CRSPPP. He also led an initative in which AACoP and SCP each set aside funds to reimburse SCP members who apply for board certification, in which the costs of the application and review process are reimbursed jointly by AACoP and SCP.

Dr. Dowd, who is board certified in both Counseling Psychology and Behavioral and Cognitive Psychology, was recognized for his service to the American Board of Professional Psychology.
