The Resource for Incorporating Trans and Gender Diverse Issues into Counseling Psychology Curricula

Dear Colleagues,

We are so proud to share a new resource developed by the Division 17 Special Task Group Making Room at the Table: Trans/Nonbinary Pipeline to Counseling Psychology.

The Resource for Incorporating Trans and Gender Diverse Issues into Counseling Psychology Curricula is intended to aid counseling psychology educators in making their curricula more inclusive of concerns pertaining to transgender, nonbinary, and gender diverse (TNG) populations. The attached resource provides a sampling of TNG-affirming literature relevant to counseling psychology coursework.

You can find an online version of the resource HERE, as well as additional materials including sample TNG-affirming syllabi, at the following link: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/11QBmbquNiDffGPvdlVl4jmet3QVfc7Zd?usp=sharing

We hope that you find this resource useful and ask that you share widely with any relevant networks. Although this tool was developed with counseling psychology programs in mind, we feel this resource may be useful to educators across a range of health and mental health fields.

Please direct any inquiries related to this resource to Mallaigh McGinley (they/them; [email protected]).

Sincerely,

APA Division 17 Special Task Group
