Call for Nominations: Editor, The Counseling Psychologist


Nominations (including self-nominations) are sought for Editor of The Counseling Psychologist (TCP). The Editor of TCP, the Society of Counseling Psychology’s official journal, is a member of the Society’s Communications and Technology Board. The Editor shall assume responsibility for the content of TCP and maintain a relationship with the publisher. The Editor recommends to the Society’s Executive Board for approval contract negotiations with the publisher, policy changes, and new appointments to the editorial board. The Editor shall be appointed by the Executive Board for a 6-year term which runs 2020-2026, with a 12-18-month period of responsibilities as Editor-elect prior to the commencement of the formal term.

Application materials should include 1) a cover letter that includes a statement of interest in the position; a description of relevant editorial, publication, and leadership experience; a description of experience and engagement with the field of counseling psychology; and a vision for the future of TCP; 2) a vita; and 3) a list of three references who have agreed to write in support of the nomination. These application materials will be used to determine who best matches the criteria established for selecting the next editor of TCP.
